March is Amber Wine Month

The term “amber wine” is a modern one, but this style of wine is as old as wine itself. How do you make an ancient style of wine in the modern age?

The key is skin contact and extraction. Winemakers are great at making wine on the grape skins, just not with white wine grapes. That’s how you make red wines: on the skins to extract tannin, color, and texture. Using red-wine techniques and equipment on white-wine grapes is how we create our amber wine, Goldvein.

All that glitters isn’t always gold. Sometimes it’s Goldvein.
Drink amber wine; drink differently.
